Current JMC Students

The A. Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications offers training in the gathering, communicating and interpreting of information for mass and specialized audiences for all types of media. The curriculum is a mixture of skills and theory courses in one of three specialties — advertising (Ad), journalism and digital media (JDM), and public relations (PR). These three specialty areas are referred to as "sequences of study," or simply, as sequences. Each specialty area consists of 39 credit hours that surround a core of courses common to all JMC students, namely, MC110 - Mass Communication in Society, and, MC466 - Mass Communication Law. Because we believe that students should be well rounded, even within a specialty, we offer students the opportunity to grow in different areas through electives within the JMC major.
