Soontae received her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before joining K-State's faculty in 2001. She also taught at the University of Navarra, Pamplona, Spain as a visiting professor. Her current research focuses on Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) prescription advertising, online advergames for children, and advertising regulations and policy.
