The 2006 Readiness Communications Conference was held in Manhattan, Kansas, Nov. 8-10, 2006 and was sponsored by the McCormick Tribune Foundation, A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications and the Huck Boyd National Center for Community Media at Kansas State University. The conference coincides with the opening of the university’s new National Agricultural Biosecurity Research Center (NABRC).
The goal of this conference is to generate a media guide that addresses what to do before, during and after an emergency or disaster such as a hurricane, tornado, food safety incident or bio-terrorist attack.
