The 2010 JMC Scholarship Reception is scheduled for April 22 from 4-7 p.m. in the Tadtman Boardroom at the K-State Alumni Center.
Three pools of scholarship money exist for students studying journalism and mass communications. One is from the university at large; another is from the A.Q. Miller School itself; and a third comes from outside sources. Journalism and mass communication scholarships are available to freshmen, transfer and returning students.
For 2009-2010 the school awarded more than $90,000 in scholarships to approximately 100 students in amounts ranging from $225 to $5,000.
The application process is similar for all students. Complete the all-university application, which is available online at www.ksu.edu/sfa. Apply for any K-State scholarships for which you may be eligible.
Before returning the scholarship application to financial aid, make two copies. Keep one and return the other to the journalism school with a completed application packet .
Nov. 1: Priority date for All-University scholarship application for incoming freshman students
Feb. 1: All applicants (freshmen, transfer students and continuing students) must also mail additional materials to the A. Q. Miller School by this date if they want to be considered for Miller School scholarships.
